Why Teaching The Underprivileged Children Changed Me Forever – Stories From Our Volunteer Teachers

At Boddhi Tree Foundation, our classrooms are not just spaces for learning, they are spaces for growth, discovery, and transformation. And it’s not only the children who grow here; our volunteer teachers often walk away with life-changing experiences of their own. Today, we’re sharing the voices of three such teachers who dedicated their time and energy to teaching underprivileged children. - Finding Confidence and a Calling : “As I came to an end with my internship, I would like to thank Deepak sir and all my HR members for providing me with this opportunity and support. It was a great learning experience and confirmed my interest in teaching. By selecting me for this opportunity, you showed confidence in my ability. Thanks to all the faculties and my students for making me believe more in my capabilities. Thanks for making me a better person, as I got to learn something new from my students each day.” Muskan’s words remind us that teaching is never a one-way street, every lesson taught brings back a lesson learned. - Growing as a Teacher and a Person : “I recently completed my internship with Boddhi Tree Foundation and I'm truly thankful for the opportunity. – Finding Confidence and a Calling :
“As I came to an end with my internship, I would like to thank Deepak sir and all my HR members for providing me with this opportunity and support. It was a great learning experience and confirmed my interest in teaching. By selecting me for this opportunity, you showed confidence in my ability. Muskan’s words remind us that teaching is never a one-way street, every lesson taught brings back a lesson learned.

Growing as a Teacher and a Person :
“I recently completed my internship with Boddhi Tree Foundation and I’m truly thankful for the opportunity. I found the internship helpful and it helped me grow as a person and a teacher. Here, I got to teach the underprivileged children from the NGO, and the experience was wonderful!”

For Nupur, the classroom was not only a place where children learned, but also where she herself grew into a more compassionate, patient, and resilient teacher.

Memories That Last a Lifetime :
“My internship lasted for 7 months, and in these months this foundation has given me a lot of experience, a lot of sweet memories and a lot of exposure. I’m grateful to have taught underprivileged children and I’ve made a lot of memories with students. We have conducted a lot of activities in the class and meetings, and I’ve made sweet bonds with my students, which are going to last for a long time. Here, people were really dedicated towards their designated works. And the foundation treated me like family.”

Her words beautifully capture what we stand for at Boddhi Tree Foundation: teaching with dedication, bonding with care, and building a family of changemakers.

Why These Stories Matter :

These voices are proof that when we bring passionate volunteers together with eager young learners, magic happens. Volunteers find their purpose. Children find their mentors. And together, they create a ripple of change that extends far beyond the classroom.
But to continue creating these stories, we need your support. Offline classrooms, resources, and teacher training require consistent funding. Every contribution, helps us give more children access to quality education and helps more volunteers find their calling.
