Teachers are more than educators, they are mentors, guides, and changemakers. But for millions of underprivileged children in India, there isn’t even a proper classroom to sit in, let alone a teacher to guide them. While many of us grew up surrounded by books, schools, and opportunities, countless children are still struggling for the basic right to education. At Boddhi Tree Foundation, we believe that education is not a privilege for a few – it is a fundamental right for every child. THE HARSH REALITY OF EDUCATION INEQUALITY : Millions of children in India are out of school because their families cannot afford education. Many villages lack proper infrastructure i.e. no classrooms, no blackboards, sometimes even no electricity to power online learning. Even when children enroll, dropout rates are high due to poverty, lack of resources, and the need to support their families. During the pandemic, this gap only grew wider. While privileged students logged into online classes, rural children were left behind – no smartphones, no stable internet, no personal space to study. For many, learning came to a complete stop.
