At Boddhi Tree Foundation, education goes beyond textbooks—it touches the body, mind, and soul. This year, we joyfully celebrated International Yoga Day on June 21st, with a heartfelt and energizing session led by our team of passionate educators. The idea to host this celebration was beautifully proposed by Ma’am Kavita Khare, our esteemed board member, and was brought to life through the cooperation of Ma’am Mehak Takkar, Ma’am Kohima Aggarwal, Ma’am Nithya Suresh, and Ma’am Jiya Patel. Recognized by the United Nations, International Yoga Day highlights the timeless Indian practice that nurtures physical health and inner peace. June 21st, the longest day of the year, is symbolic of light, energy, and transformation—qualities that yoga helps us awaken within ourselves. Our virtual classrooms turned into peaceful yoga spaces, where children explored simple but powerful poses. Under the gentle guidance of our teachers, students practiced: Anulom Vilom (Alternate Nostril Breathing) Butterfly Pose Stretching and Tadasana (Mountain Pose) These calming yet energizing exercises helped students reconnect with their breath, body, and emotions. It was more than just movement—it was mindfulness in motion. The children didn’t just follow instructions—they felt the effects. Here are a few of their reflections: “I felt so peaceful after Anulom Vilom,” shared Akshad (Class 8). “Yoga helped me feel less tired and more happy,” said Sanjana (Class 6).

Under the gentle guidance of our teachers, students practiced:

  • Anulom Vilom (Alternate Nostril Breathing)
  • Butterfly Pose
  • Stretching and Tadasana (Mountain Pose)

These calming yet energizing exercises helped students reconnect with their breath, body, and emotions. It was more than just movement—it was mindfulness in motion.

The children didn’t just follow instructions—they felt the effects.
Here are a few of their reflections:

  • “I felt so peaceful after Anulom Vilom,” shared Akshad (Class 8).
  • “Yoga helped me feel less tired and more happy,” said Sanjana (Class 6).
  • Md Mursal, Anushka, Aviral, and Abida also took part wholeheartedly, enjoying every moment of calm and clarity the session offered.

Inspired by the practice, students were encouraged to take up a 7-day Yoga Habit Challenge—starting their mornings with 5–10 minutes of basic stretches or breathing exercises. This simple act is a step toward long-term wellness.

Yoga isn’t just about flexibility or fitness—it’s also about mental strength and balance. Through this celebration, students discovered that yoga can help manage stress, stay calm before exams, and even improve focus. These are life tools that go far beyond the mat.

Our teachers also explained the importance of daily yoga, especially for children, highlighting its role in improving posture, digestion, sleep, and overall immunity.

The success of this event was made possible by the Boddhi Tree family. Special thanks to our faculty and board who believe in nurturing the whole child—mind, body, and spirit. At BTF, we take pride in building not just students, but thoughtful, emotionally aware, and healthy individuals ready to make a difference in the world.

As we closed the session, we reflected on the ancient wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita:

“योगः कर्मसु कौशलम्”Yoga is skill in action and expression.

Let this message remind us that through stillness, breath, and intention, we can find strength, focus, and peace.

International Yoga Day may come once a year, but the gift of yoga is something we carry every day. At Boddhi Tree Foundation, we will continue to encourage wellness, reflection, and mindful learning in every classroom—online or offline.

Here’s to balance, breath, and a brighter, healthier future.
